It’s been two years since Camp Rock was unveiled to the world, creating a star out of cheerful teen singer Demi Lovato and making even bigger stars out of the Jonas Brothers. Camp Rock delivered some of the Disney Channel’s best ratings, spawning a bestselling sound-track -and now, it’s rare to go more than a day without reading a news story about the film’s young stars.

So it came as no surprise that Disney was eager to make a sequel, and, on Sept. 3, Lovato and the Jonas Brothers return for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. As is the case with most sequels, the musical numbers are bigger and the stakes are higher.

“We have a much bigger budget now,” Joe Jonas says. “We haven’t stayed on the same set for more than three days at a time, and that’s really exciting … and the inside sets are absolutely massive.”

Adds Lovato: “We definitely have more dancing in Camp Rock 2. We made the routines even bigger and more fun.”

But although there are still plenty of upbeat song-and-dance numbers, Camp Rock is in trouble, threatened by the glitz and glam of the new Camp Star across the lake. A musical showdown is imminent, but the situation is made more complicated when Nick’s character, Nate, develops a star-crossed romance with a Camp Star camper.

Nick admits he was a little bit intimidated by his bigger role in The Final Jam, but found his work on the family’s Disney Channel sitcom JONAS helped prepare him for the challenge.

“We learned a lot on the set of the show,” Nick says, “and we feel really comfortable in front of the camera now.”

Meanwhile, Joe and Demi’s characters, Shane and Mitchie, struggle to develop their burgeoning relationship while still keeping Camp Rock afloat.

“Shane has gotten a lot nicer,” Joe says. “He’s a lot more confident and finds happiness in wanting to know happiness and getting to know Mitchie.”

But the real question is: Will Shane and Mitchie finally kiss in The Final Jam?

“You’ll have to wait and see,” Lovato says.

Lest any Kevin Jonas fans worry he’s getting left out, Kevin says his character “becomes a counsellor for the junior rock band, to father them through the ups and downs.”

Just as their characters have matured since Camp Rock, Lovato and the Jonas Brothers have grown up themselves. Lovato has become a pop princess in her own right, Nick formed his own band, Nick Jonas and the Administration, Joe is developing his acting career and Kevin is a married man.

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam airs Friday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. on Family Channel.

Leave it to Demi Lovato to recover from a mid-concert fall with elegance.

The 17-year-old star of Sonny with a Chance was in the middle of performing “Remember December” at a recent show for the Camp Rock 2 tour when she tripped and fell to her knees. Always the professional, Demi played off the fall flawlessly and continued singing without missing a beat.

Watch the video below. [Falls @ 1:01]

Demi is currently on tour with the Jonas Brothers and she’ll have to celebrate her entrance into adulthood on the road when she turns 18 on August 20.

The teen queen was most recently in the news after a gossip site reported that she was still “friends with benefits” with ex-beau Joe Jonas while the two were on tour together. Joe denied the claim and said that he would be seeking legal action against the blog that reported the rumor.

Demi and the JoBros are currently gearing up for the premiere of Camp Rock 2 in New York City. However, Demi, Jemi, and JoBro fans will have to wait until September 3 to see the actual film.

Demi Lovato is currently on the road with the Jonas Brothers for their “Camp Rock 2″ tour, and she has one killer wardrobe, complete with bedazzled boots, lots of funky jewelry and cool, little dresses. So Lovato, who has admitted to shopping on tour, was a bit nervous when she gave MTV News a behind-the-scenes look at her outfits.

Lovato said that in the weeks leading up to the trek, she really had to focus and nail down the looks she wanted for her performances, which would include sets of her singing her own tunes as well as tunes from the “Camp Rock” movies. That means she needed looks that were both Lovato and Mitchie, her character from the movies. “When it comes to picking out outfits for the tour, I had a rack that filled out an entire warehouse,” she shared. “I just went through it and it took me like six, seven hours to fit all the outfits for the tour. It was fun!”

One of those looks is an edgy black and feather dress that screamed Lady Gaga. “It’s a dress and I’ve never really performed my own set in a dress before,” she shared at a rehearsal days before the tour kicked off last week. “So I’m excited.”

Another look was a sparkly teal dress that included some sky-high heels. “This is for one of the ‘Camp Rock’ looks that I sing the duet ['Wouldn't Change a Thing' with Joe Jonas] in, and here are the crazy shoes also,” she said. “I mean they’re not crazy like Lady Gaga, but for me they are. I’ve never performed in stilettos, so we’ll see how this goes.”

Lovato also shows off a multicolored dress with a little bronze jacket that suits her “Camp Rock” alternate persona perfectly. “Here’s another ‘Camp Rock,’ dress. Not something I would typically wear, but my character would,” she explained.

So, what inspires Lovato’s fashion choices for the show? “I feel like it’s more Rihanna than Lady Gaga. I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather,” she said, before showing off some heavy metal jewelry. “And I have this crazy jewelry. Actually this one [ring] is pretty crazy [with all its spikes], and the bracelets have twice as many spikes. Overall, I guess you can say there’s a ton of spikes in my wardrobe.”

TINLEY PARK, Illinois — After Demi Lovato played a raucous set of her original songs, some old-school “Camp Rock” numbers and a few tunes from the September 3 Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock 2,” Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas hit the stage for the inaugural stop of their new tour at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on a steamy Saturday night.

The Jonas Brothers got their half of the party started with “Feeling Alive,” “Hold On” and “Year 3000,” and girls were immediately screaming, singing and dancing on their seats.

“How are you guys doing tonight? You excited for ‘Camp Rock 2′?” Joe asked the crowd before dancers hit the stage for an uptempo, country-tinged new tune from the soundtrack.

The guys played a number of songs off the soundtrack, and when Kevin asked for fans’ opinions of the new songs, he received a resounding cheer. The crowd went nuts when Demi came onstage to sing “This Is Me” along with the boys.

Joe and Demi also played their new duet, “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

“You guys are awesome,” Demi told everyone before saying good night.

The next part of the night belonged to “L.A. Baby,” from their “JONAS L.A.” TV show. That led into a cover of the Beatles’ “Drive My Car.”

After “Paranoid,” Joe and Kevin gave their little bro, Nick, the stage for his solo “Who I Am.” “Thank you so much for loving me for who I am,” he told everyone.

Nick was rejoined by his brothers and took to the piano for “Fly With Me.” Then, girls went crazy for the ballad “When You Look Me in the Eyes.”

Telling the fans they were going to “take them back in time,” the Jonases played “Please Be Mine” as photos of the guys from over the years showed on a screen behind them.

Then the stage was transformed into a swanky jazz club, complete with dancers in ’20s garb, for “Lovebug.”

For the encore, the brothers brought out their hits “S.O.S.” and then “Burnin’ Up.” And on this sweltering night, it took little to make the crowd burn up themselves, but Nick stripping down to a tank top made the girls scream even more as the show drew to a close.
