Demi Lovato amps up the volume and sings her heart out as she performs at the Cruzan Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida on Tuesday night (September 8).

The 18-year-old singer was accused on Twitter of canceling her meet and greet in Tampa last night — but JJJ can tell you that’s not the case at all.

The stadium in Tampa was flooded! Demi even tweeted pics of the water rising. “Demi tweeted, “I didn’t cancel my meet and greet.. I was so disappointed when I wasn’t able to sing to and meet my fans tonight. For safety reasons we couldn’t follow through.”

But even celebs need a break sometimes. “About to say goodbye to twitter… I love my fans so much but the access that the other people have is uncomfortable to me,” she added on.

Demi is still on Twitter, but she’s just taking a break.

“America’s Next Top Model” is gearing up for the Cycle 15 premiere on September 8, but we are already getting quite a look at what some of these girls are going to be going through.

“Entertainment Tonight” has a new video of the models doing one of their first challenges, which is modeling swimwear while having words (not all of them pleasant) all over their bodies. In the midst of doing this, they receive a visit from a special guest — Disney Channel star Demi Lovato, who teaches them about her cause to stop bullying across the nation.

This season has yet to begin, but there already has been some controversy thanks to Ann, a contestant whose super-thin image became the talk of the country after a preview video hit the internet. In less than one week, though, we will finally learn which model has the potential to really come out on top as the winner.

“He’s the biggest rock star of all of them. He’s got swag like Justin Bieber and he rocks out like Mick Jagger, so he’s kind of a combination of the two. He’s kind of like the ultimate rock star. Watch out, Justin Timberlake!”

-Singer, actress and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” star Demi Lovato, discussing co-star Frankie Jonas, the youngest of the four Jonas Brothers and the one often referred to as “Bonus Jonas.” Lovato compared Frankie to both Bieber and Timberlake on the red carpet of the “Camp Rock 2″ premiere in New York, and she had plenty of praise for the youngest Jonas sibling.

The nine-year-old Frankie may be young, and “Camp Rock 2″ represents his first major live action film (he provided voice work in “Ponyo” a few years back), but his goals are clear. “I would like to pursue my acting career and do a little music in the middle,” he told MTV News. “It’s my first live action [film] and to have my brothers with me is way more exciting because they make you feel more comfortable.”

And he’s even a little wise beyond his years. When asked about what advice his already-veteran older brothers gave him, he could recite the best bit he was given. “They’ve given me a great one that my dad gave to them and they passed on to me during the filming of ‘Camp Rock.’ It says, ‘Live like you’re at the bottom, even if you’re at the top,’ ” he explained. “Remember where you came from.”

You can catch Frankie, Joe, Kevin and Nick (as well as Lovato) when “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” premieres on the Disney Channel this Friday, September 3.

NEW YORK — Demi Lovato isn’t like any 18-year-old star I’ve met.

It’s press week for Camp Rock 2, the sequel to the 2008 hit TV movie starring the Jonas Brothers and Lovato, which will air in Canada on the Family Channel on Friday, Sept. 3.

Lovato walks into an early morning interview at the Parker Meridien Hotel radiating an odd combination of relaxation and intensity, which isn’t as conflicting as it first sounds.

Unlike lots of women her age, who try too hard to impress you with their niceness, or — worse — present a portrait of someone horribly bored by the whole show-business scene, Lovato is precisely what she announces herself to be. “I’m an 18-year-old-girl who is lucky enough to have one of the greatest careers in the world. I try to keep it real. I don’t have time to worry about what I’m projecting to the world. I’m just busy being myself.”

But she’s not as easy to pinpoint as she makes it sound. Even 30 minutes with her introduces you to someone who’s tough and tender, worldly and beguilingly innocent. And that is her charm. As she sings in the song “La La Land” that she wrote with the Jonases: “I am confident, but I still have my moments,/Baby, that’s just me./I’m not a supermodel, I still eat McDonald’s./Baby, that’s just me.”

In true star fashion, pop singer-actress Demi Lovato had no clue where she was calling from during a recent phone interview.

“I’m not sure; I’m on a tour bus,” Lovato said. “I have no idea, I really don’t.”

It turns out Lovato was in Connecticut, but before you paint the 18-year-old Disney Channel star as a diva, cut her a break. Not only is she on a national tour with the Jonas Brothers, but the Texas native is also the star of Disney’s tween show “Sonny with a Chance” and its successful television movie “Camp Rock.” In fact, it’s the latter role she’s reprising — along with the Jonas Brothers — in the sequel “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” which premieres Sept. 3 on the Disney Channel.

“We had so much fun the first time, I was anxious to see what ‘Camp Rock 2’ would be like and would be about,” Lovato said. “The fans loved the first one and hoped there would be a sequel. There’s a ton of music and ton of dancing in the new movie. It’s more musical-driven, and it’s just really all of us at our peaks trying to do the best we can. Hopefully we nailed it.”

Nailing it is something Lovato has been doing for the better part of the last decade. While early on she was a child actor appearing on “Barney & Friends,” the actress ventured into the music industry with her 2008 debut effort “Don’t Forget.” It was that same year she hit the road with the Jonas Brothers for a screamfest tour. Lovato decided to once again join forces with the Jonas Brothers for another tour, which comes to Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday. Lovato is touring her 2009 sophomore effort, “Here We Go Again,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The singer is thinking about her third studio effort, which she hopes will come out next year. Even though the project has yet to be recorded, Lovato has an idea where she’d like to take it.

“As much as I love the first two albums, I didn’t have too much time to record and write,” Lovato said. “I think the most time I had was on the first album, and I wrote it and recorded it in a month. We definitely have not had that extra time to just play with and expand that, and that’s what I’m doing on this next album. I have a lot of fun with my music, and I’m always looking how to get to the next step, but at the same time I never want to compromise myself for anything. I’m just enjoying making music and having a good time.”

Kids who go to sleep-away camp look forward all school year to friends they see only in summer, not showering all that often and freedom. Parents love camp, too, but for different reasons.

The camp themes of good versus evil and fake versus genuine play out in Disney Channel’s “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” Friday, Sept. 3.

The sequel to “Camp Rock,” a huge hit two years ago, reunites the Jonas Brothers as the band Connect 3, with Demi Lovato as Mitchie. There are fledgling, chaste romances and the lesson that leadership requires cooperation and hard work.

The plot pitches talented teens against other talented teens, culminating in a singing and dancing competition with high stakes. An interesting aside is that the audience watching the competition at the end of the movie is made up of real fans. They were found when the Jonas Brothers and Lovato Twittered the need for extras. Within three minutes, 60,000 people had applied for the 1,500 slots, says a Disney publicist, and by that night the traffic had reached 1 million, crashing the server.

Lovato (“Sonny With a Chance”), whom the channel has been grooming for stardom, is aggressively earnest as she sings and dances. Though there’s plenty for JoBro fans to enjoy, this is Lovato’s movie.

“This was the first film I was not totally overshadowed by them,” Lovato says from a Manhattan hotel room. “Going into the film, I knew this time would be different. I couldn’t get away with not doing my best performance.”

The movie is better than it needs to be, considering it has a built-in audience. Lovato, who has been touring with the Jonas Brothers, was thrust into the frenzy swirling around the brothers.

“Their fans are supportive, and they are supportive of me,” she says. “It’s crazy to arrive at 4 in the morning and there are people inside the hotel.”

On a rainy day in New York, the brothers are sequestered in a hotel. Gigantic bodyguards, placed every so many yards in the hotel hallways, keep watch for overzealous fans. The brothers, who get along easily with one another, laugh as they recall their camp days.

Camp, says Kevin Jonas, is “amazing. You never want to lose your love of camp.” He attended camp for nine years, Joe for seven and Nick for four. They all say they love it, and Joe’s favorite memory is “the last day of camp, there was a giant relay race.”

Kevin recalls boys daring one another. “You’d eat an entire onion by yourself,” he says. Joe adds, “Or you would eat a whole piece of Spam.”

“Camp is so universal,” Kevin says. “It buys that sense of togetherness. You have camp friends that you only see at camp and couldn’t see an entire year.”

Camp Rock is for kids who want to be rock stars. A rival rock-wannabe camp, Camp Star, sets up business across the lake and threatens Camp Rock’s existence.

“At Camp Rock, everyone has grown up a little more,” Kevin says. “Joe and Nick and I are in it more, and we take on a leadership role, the ownership of the camp — we feel a responsibility. You feel part of the journey — wanting the camp to survive.”

The camp owner is on the brink of closing Camp Rock as counselors and kids defect to Camp Star, but Mitchie rallies the troops to save the sweet, no-frills camp they love.

“The fact that it’s tons of different stories and has a moral to it,” is her takeaway, Lovato says. “And being the right kind of leader. She becomes very bossy. I remember girls can be super bossy. Girls can learn from that.”

Sure, the kids break into song and dance at any given moment. And it’s about as realistic as these situations are in any musical. But remember, Disney ushered in the model for movie musicals for kids with “High School Musical.” The choreography is devoid of sexuality, and to understand what an accomplishment that is, tune into most music videos and see how comfortable parents are allowing tweens to watch.

“Dancing is something I have always been passionate about,” Lovato says. “I started with jazz, tap and ballet, and when I hit about 10, I started taking hip-hop.”

She can also belt a number, evident as Mitchie leads everyone in “Brand New Day,” a catchy tune co-written by Kara DioGuardi of “American Idol” fame.

There’s something here for parents who know their album covers. The brothers pose briefly as musicians from iconic LPs. There are nods to such cover art as Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” and Crosby, Stills & Nash’s first album.

One of the best songs is Nate (Nick Jonas) singing, “Introducing Me” with the lyrics of: “I eat cheese only on pizza, except in a homemade quesadilla, otherwise it smells like cheese … .”

Sure, the movie’s title includes the word “final,” but the ending, which will not be revealed here, leaves open the possibility of sequels.

It’s been two years since Camp Rock was unveiled to the world, creating a star out of cheerful teen singer Demi Lovato and making even bigger stars out of the Jonas Brothers. Camp Rock delivered some of the Disney Channel’s best ratings, spawning a bestselling sound-track -and now, it’s rare to go more than a day without reading a news story about the film’s young stars.

So it came as no surprise that Disney was eager to make a sequel, and, on Sept. 3, Lovato and the Jonas Brothers return for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. As is the case with most sequels, the musical numbers are bigger and the stakes are higher.

“We have a much bigger budget now,” Joe Jonas says. “We haven’t stayed on the same set for more than three days at a time, and that’s really exciting … and the inside sets are absolutely massive.”

Adds Lovato: “We definitely have more dancing in Camp Rock 2. We made the routines even bigger and more fun.”

But although there are still plenty of upbeat song-and-dance numbers, Camp Rock is in trouble, threatened by the glitz and glam of the new Camp Star across the lake. A musical showdown is imminent, but the situation is made more complicated when Nick’s character, Nate, develops a star-crossed romance with a Camp Star camper.

Nick admits he was a little bit intimidated by his bigger role in The Final Jam, but found his work on the family’s Disney Channel sitcom JONAS helped prepare him for the challenge.

“We learned a lot on the set of the show,” Nick says, “and we feel really comfortable in front of the camera now.”

Meanwhile, Joe and Demi’s characters, Shane and Mitchie, struggle to develop their burgeoning relationship while still keeping Camp Rock afloat.

“Shane has gotten a lot nicer,” Joe says. “He’s a lot more confident and finds happiness in wanting to know happiness and getting to know Mitchie.”

But the real question is: Will Shane and Mitchie finally kiss in The Final Jam?

“You’ll have to wait and see,” Lovato says.

Lest any Kevin Jonas fans worry he’s getting left out, Kevin says his character “becomes a counsellor for the junior rock band, to father them through the ups and downs.”

Just as their characters have matured since Camp Rock, Lovato and the Jonas Brothers have grown up themselves. Lovato has become a pop princess in her own right, Nick formed his own band, Nick Jonas and the Administration, Joe is developing his acting career and Kevin is a married man.

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam airs Friday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. on Family Channel.

Silence is golden: That’s one lesson Demi Lovato has taken away from her brief high-profile romance with Joe Jonas. After going through a very public breakup last spring, Lovato now says she wishes she’d kept her relationship with her Camp Rock 2 costar quiet.

“I learned my lesson,” Lovato, 18, tells PEOPLE. “It’s not very much fun when you break up in a public relationship. So, maybe next time keep a secret.”

Though the Jonas Brothers member has been portrayed as a heartbreaker, following his split from other young stars like Taylor Swift, Lovato defends him.

“I know that he has the best intentions,” she says. “Definitely most guys don’t have the same intentions that he does.”

Still, Lovato admits it was tough to keep her feelings to herself once she started dating Jonas, 21, after they finished filming Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. (It premieres on the Disney Channel Sept. 3 and airs through the Labor Day weekend.)

“You want to say to your fans, ‘Guess what, I’m so in love with somebody.’ You want to shout it from the rooftops. That’s what you do when you fall in love,” she says. “At the same time, I learned my lesson. You know, I’ll go public when I marry someone one day.”

While Jonas has been spotted out with Twilight star Ashley Greene – he declined to comment on whether or not they’re dating – Lovato says she isn’t in a rush to start a new love connection. “No new romances. I’m perfectly happy with being single. I feel like also if I was going to have a new romance, I’d keep it private,” she says.

In the meantime, Lovato is touring with the Jonas Brothers and members of the Camp Rock 2 cast – and she and Jonas are back to being friends. “Working with [Joe] has been fine,” she adds. “It’s been really great.”

Reportedly, Joe Jonas is in war with Zack Taylor over a blog post that insists he and underage ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato are currently “friends with benefits”. TMZ has learned that Joe’s attorney already filed off a letter to Zack Taylor, blasting the guy for a story he posted which implied that 20-year-old Joe and 17-year-old Demi “are involved in an illicit relationship”. In the letter obtained by TMZ, Jonas’ attorney claims the story is completely false, offensive and defamatory and that the intent of the blog post was a malicious attempt to attack and devaule Joe’s good name and reputation. Jonas’ is demanding the post be pulled ASAP, or else a lawsuit may follow. Taylor tells TMZ, “We are currently reviewing the situation & letter. However, at this time we do stand by our sources and their claims.” (Story originally posted by TMZ–rewritten by OhLovato.com)

They say it’s better to give than receive – and Demi Lovato was living that maxim this year. The teen star gave her family a gift on her 18th birthday.

“I just bought a house,” Lovato tells PEOPLE of a Mediterranean style home she purchased outside of L.A. “For me to give [that] to my family on my birthday, that was the best present.”

Lovato also plans to live on the property, in a house in the backyard. “It’s got pretty much everything you could possibly imagine in it,” she says. “It’s the most beautiful, homey-feeling house. I love it.”

And, as a bonus, “the pool has a water slide, which is really cool,” she says.

Celebrating her birthday with younger sister Madison de la Garza (of Desperate Housewives) and her Camp Rock 2 costars Joe and Nick Jonas, who were in town to promote the Disney Channel movie which premieres Sept. 3, Lovato and her pals dined at New York’s Buddakan – and finished off the evening with a cake.

The movie was enough of a treat, but the lucky Jonas Brothers fans who attended the Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam premiere in New York Wednesday got a whole lot more than that.

Following the screening at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato emerged for a surprise performance of the romantic duet “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” from the movie’s soundtrack, with Joe’s brothers Kevin and Nick playing backup.

The impromptu concert was a hit, judging by the number of girls in the audience shrieking at the top of their lungs.

Earlier in the event, on the red carpet, Lovato talked about how it’s been working with Joe Jonas since their breakup in May. “We’ve obviously had our ups and downs, but no matter what, we’ll be best friends for a long time,” she told PEOPLE.

Lovato, who turns 18 on Friday, also expressed her gratitude to Joe, 21, for recently threatening legal action against a blogger who posted a story with alleged falsehoods about their relationship.

“All three of them will defend me, because they’re my brothers, they have my back,” Lovato said. “And I’ll defend them any day, too.”

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam will premiere on the Disney Chanel on Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. ET and air the following three nights at the same time.

HollywoodNews.com – As Demi Lovato’s career and music undergo a change, she has one idea in mind and that’s to start creating songs that are more “radio-friendly.” Although she’s known for being a bit of a rocker girl, Lovato now wants to move into more mainstream R&B while still keeping artistry in her music, reports MTV. With this change, she’s also hoping to show off her vocals a bit more by putting them on display instead of “singing really loud” with rock music. While fans may be unsure of the departure, Lovato grew up singing and listening to R&B so it’s a style she’s very familiar with right now. So who would be some musicians she’d like to collaborate with for her new album? “I would love for Drake to be on the album … I would also like to do a song with Trey Songz. It would be hot!”

TINLEY PARK, Illinois — After Demi Lovato played a raucous set of her original songs, some old-school “Camp Rock” numbers and a few tunes from the September 3 Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock 2,” Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas hit the stage for the inaugural stop of their new tour at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on a steamy Saturday night.

The Jonas Brothers got their half of the party started with “Feeling Alive,” “Hold On” and “Year 3000,” and girls were immediately screaming, singing and dancing on their seats.

“How are you guys doing tonight? You excited for ‘Camp Rock 2′?” Joe asked the crowd before dancers hit the stage for an uptempo, country-tinged new tune from the soundtrack.

The guys played a number of songs off the soundtrack, and when Kevin asked for fans’ opinions of the new songs, he received a resounding cheer. The crowd went nuts when Demi came onstage to sing “This Is Me” along with the boys.

Joe and Demi also played their new duet, “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

“You guys are awesome,” Demi told everyone before saying good night.

The next part of the night belonged to “L.A. Baby,” from their “JONAS L.A.” TV show. That led into a cover of the Beatles’ “Drive My Car.”

After “Paranoid,” Joe and Kevin gave their little bro, Nick, the stage for his solo “Who I Am.” “Thank you so much for loving me for who I am,” he told everyone.

Nick was rejoined by his brothers and took to the piano for “Fly With Me.” Then, girls went crazy for the ballad “When You Look Me in the Eyes.”

Telling the fans they were going to “take them back in time,” the Jonases played “Please Be Mine” as photos of the guys from over the years showed on a screen behind them.

Then the stage was transformed into a swanky jazz club, complete with dancers in ’20s garb, for “Lovebug.”

For the encore, the brothers brought out their hits “S.O.S.” and then “Burnin’ Up.” And on this sweltering night, it took little to make the crowd burn up themselves, but Nick stripping down to a tank top made the girls scream even more as the show drew to a close.

She’s gearing up for her tour with the Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato is pumped for her gig tomorrow in Chicago.

The “Sonny with a Chance” babe explained that she’s been keeping busy in the Windy City as she prepares for Saturday’s show.

“Well, sometimes there’s little errands, and sometimes I like to go shopping. [I try to] make it a little bit more exciting when I go into a city rather than just go into a city, go into the hotel, playing a show, get back on the bus.”

“I’m a big shopper. Given the amount of time that I have, I go to my favorite stores first, but then if I have time and I see a cute boutique store, I’ll go there.”
